United States ex rel. DeMott v. Pfizer, Inc. (D. Mass.)
Ann Lugbill, Mark Hanna, and Lorrie Bradley represented Pfizer senior sales representative Glenn DeMott of Columbus, Ohio. The $ 2.3 billion Pfizer settlement is the largest civil False Claims Act settlement ever. As a former employee who held a graduate biology degree, the late Glenn DeMott understood the many scientific articles that Pfizer directed its sales people to use to promote Pfizer pharmaceuticals. He knew that the sales pitches based on these articles did not accurately reflect the scientific data and he objected to the mis-use of scholarly articles in sales. Glenn DeMott was one of over a dozen brave whistleblowers who participated in the 2009 $ 2.3 billion False Claims Act settlement involving multiple Pfizer drugs, including Bextra, Celebrex, and Lyrica.
